Attorney. Entrepreneur. Producer. Executive.
I have worn many hats.
But mostly, I prefer to simply be seen as a fierce advocate for my clients on matters pertaining to transactions, litigation and intellectual property law. I am honored to have worked with these clients. They are a group of names that reads like a “Who’s Who” of American cultural icons. Included are such luminaries as Machine Gun Kelly, New Edition, Cool & Dre, 8 Ball & MJG, Alan Houston, Floyd Mayweather, Israel Boyd, Afroman, Kodak Black, Justine Skye. Along the way, I have also worked with popular brands such as Grey Goose Vodka, Vokai, and Universal Records. They all seek the perspective that comes from my experience as an attorney and my extensive background in virtually all facets of the entertainment industry.
I am especially proud of the settlement I structured between Suave House Records, JCOR records and 8 Ball & MJG – a deal that resulted in the latter garnering a seven-figure, 5-album deal with Sean P-Diddy’s new Bad Boy label. It was a deal that underscored my reputation as someone who can "turn a contact into a contract.”
A member of the Board of Cleveland Film Festival, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the GRAMMY Urban Committee and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers association, I also serve as the Co-CEO of the branding company EST19XX and in 2016 was presented with the “Legends Award” for my contributions to the hip hop industry. In 2017, I was also honored to be named to the SuperLawyers list of attorneys. In addition, I enjoy speaking regularly on high profile panels at major entertainment and legal organizations.
A graduate of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University (TSU), I always try to continue learning and have also earned a Masters of Law degree from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law as well as a Juris Doctor degree from TSU law school.
I am licensed to practice law in New York, California, Ohio and Florida.
